Wise Self Psychology

Hi, I'm Dr. Curry

Licensed Clinical Psychologist  Telehealth across CA, SD & WY

Inga Curry, PhD

A little about me

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in trauma, anxiety, and depression. My approach to therapy is thoughtful and collaborative. I am grounded in the belief that meaningful change comes from insight, learning new skills, as well as learning to relate to yourself differently.

In therapy, I work with themes of self-criticism, feelings of inadequacy, difficulty trusting oneself, self-compassion, and self-worth.  Often, these themes show up as emotional, cognitive, or behavioral patterns. I have found that many patterns are rooted in earlier experiences and relationships that shaped how they learned to see themselves and navigate the world.

We work toward understanding these patterns with greater clarity and compassion while also building practical ways to move forward. I draw from cognitive-behavioral therapies, mindfulness-based approaches, and deeper exploratory work to help clients feel more grounded, flexible, and connected to themselves.

I have a particular passion for working with people navigating identity and belonging — including immigrants, bicultural and first-generation individuals. I understand that experience personally.

I work best with clients who are curious about themselves and are motivated for change, even if they don’t yet fully understand what’s keeping them stuck.

Areas of Focus

How I Work

Therapy is most effective when it balances insight with practical change. My approach is active, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s goals, history, and needs.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (CBT)

A structured, practical approach that explores how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another while building more balanced and effective ways of coping.

Mindfulness-Based Therapies

Practices that help you slow down, relate to your inner experiences with greater awareness and less judgment, and develop a more grounded relationship with yourself over time.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

An approach that helps you understand the different parts of yourself — including protective patterns, inner criticism, and emotional wounds — with greater compassion, curiosity, and clarity.
